Comment One hundred years of solitude is one of my favorite foreign novels. When I read this bookI felt very different from other novels, which was one of the characteristics of it.The bookalmost has no positive atmosphere but loneliness and decadence. The author told us the seven generations of the Buendia family at the town named Makondo. Finally, the man read the end of the book, he knew everything about his family and chose to accept the fate calmly.
Loneliness is the sign of the family and you can feel the shadow of it in every members of the family. They were born with loneliness, and also they didn’t escape from loneliness. They were afraid ofloneliness tried to be against with it in their own ways, but they also maintained a lonely stance. The loneliness of the family reflects great loneliness and confusion of modern people: Who are we? Where are we come from? And where are we going to?But I want to say, it’ssolitude,butnot loneliness. When we are young, we all may fell solitude. We will ask that what’s my goal and how can I achieve it and so on. Solitude is not inevitable because we need to do something alone when we are on the way of pursuit.
